Printing
Offset printing
Offset printing is known the world over as one of the highest-quality printing technologies. The printing is precise, fast, and reliably consistent. There are thousands of materials that can be used in offset printing – from light 45 g paper which is used for medicine information leaflets, to cardboard of up to 1 mm in thickness which is applied in exclusive packaging.
Our machine has eight colour sections and a water varnish section. Thanks to the perfector, we can print on both sides of the sheet.
Indigo printing
Indigo combines the advantages of digital and offset printing. Similarly to digital printing, the starting costs are low, and tuning times are short. Indigo is therefore ideal for producing smaller batches of printed material. At the same time, this printing method also uses liquid colours, and offset printing technology to transfer the ink to the printed material, making the printing quality equal to offset printing.
With Indigo, we can print on common, thin paper as well as thick, structural design paper. When printing on dark material, we can use white print as a design element, or covering print to make the design stand out more. Indigo allows us to imitate most PMS colours, making corporate graphic printing simpler and less expensive.
Effects
There are many different ways to make printings more special.
Hot foil
If you need a very effective piece of printed matter to be eye-catching and memorable, we recommend hot foil. This option is available in many different colours and textures, so we can certainly find a suitable solution for you.
There are nearly endless possibilities for creating special effects with foiling. In addition to the hundreds of available tones, structure or multiple levels can be added. If needed, we can add a foil finish with several different moulds and colours at once. Foil finish can be added to materials that are up to 0.7 mm thick.
Embossed printing
Embossed printing is a great option when you want to add images or text to a product without using offset printing. When an embossed print comes out well, it can really create a “wow” effect. To achieve this, the material and the design have to work together perfectly. To further highlight the impressive effect, we recommend placing the image on a solid background.
Before ordering embossed printing, be sure to consult with our specialists to check if the material and the image you have in mind are suitable. The general term is embossed printing, but a distinction is made between embossed printing and blind printing. The image in embossed printing is raised above the surface of the paper, but in the case of blind printing the mould is forced down.
Stamping
Stamping allows for producing all sorts of different shaped printings.
When stamping, the desired shape is struck using a bladed form pressing down on the material. We have four different stamping machines, with the smaller ones being used to make smaller batches of material, and larger batches being made on the machines intended for that. Before placing a stamping order, our specialists will help make sure that the material and design are suitable for stamping, and that it will meet the customer’s expectations. Stamping can be used to create different products, boxes, and stickers.
Partial UV varnish
Spot UV varnish can help effectively accentuate important information without creating special moulds. Spot varnish or spot UV varnish is mainly used to emphasise headlines on a magazine or highlight text or other elements on the packaging.
There are no special conditions or requirements to accomplish this. Therefore, it can be applied to fine printing even without consulting an expert beforehand. The only thing to keep in mind is that uncoated paper will absorb the spot varnish into itself more than coated paper does. That is why the effect will tend to be weaker with the former. But for us, the only crucial question is what part of the material is to be covered with spot varnish.
Binding
Visual preferences, number of pages and budget must be taken into account when choosing a binding method.
Saddle stitching
One of the most widespread methods of binding in print houses is saddle stitching. Our saddle stitching equipment can staple up to 5 booklets and covers. There is also a manual feed section. Magazines up to A3 size can be used for stitching. If needed, we can also staple many products at the same time, for example coupon books.
To achieve a pleasing result, we recommend a thickness of less than 7 mm for saddle stitching. Saddle stitch binding can also be used with inner pages of differing lengths, when pages fold out or the covers or pages fold back – for example p 6, p8 g-fold, accordion fold.
Adhesive binding
Our adhesive binding line is one of the most modern in Estonia. Quite a few magazines that you find on the supermarket shelves have been bound in our premises.
Catalogues with a thickness of 2 mm to 5 cm are suitable for adhesive binding. For inner pages, we recommend selecting paper in the range of 80-150 g. Our maximum binding format is A3. With adhesive binding, it is possible to use different page lengths in one binding. Consult with our specialists who will assist in finding solutions for any custom wishes.
Spiral binding
Spiral binding is perfectly suited for producing calendars and notebooks. It also makes sense to create print materials with spiral binding or comb binding that needs to be browsed frequently. The pages of a book with spiral binding can be rotated 360 degrees, so they also take up less space on a table. Spiral binding can be used for binding books with a few to a few hundred pages. The binding wire can be found in different sizes and tones. The standard colours are white, black and silver. Blue or red spirals are also widespread. We can even use a golden comb to bind printings, if needed.
Hardback binding
Hardcover books are durable and attractive. In addition to works of fiction, hardcover binding can also be used for notebooks, textbooks, and photo books. With hardcover binding, it is possible to select the thickness of the cardboard, shape of the spine and the material covering the cover.
We can print books in full colour and use textile or leather imitation materials. A bookmark can also be added, if needed. We can also assist if you would like the book to be bound in the French, Swiss, or Danish binding.
Eyeletting and riveting
Any processes that our equipment gets stuck with are manually executed by our fine and diligent print post-processing team. Eyeletting and riveting are analogous technologies that fulfil similar functions.
Eyelets have a hollow interior, like the shape of a doughnut. Rivets are filled on the inside. The most standard rivets and eyelets are of a silvery tone. We can also rivet or eyelet with golden or black details, if needed.
